Sacred Heart Altar, Haggardstown Chapel

"Canon Clarke feels most Grateful to the subscribers, and begs to thank those most sincerely not only for their generous subscriptions to the Sacred Heart Altar, but also to the warm way in which they received the lady collectors. To the latter he is under the deepest obligations, and feels that he can never sufficiently reward them both for their enthusiasm with which they entered into the work, and the success with which it was crowned, in the course of a few days. But it was a labour of love to them, and their reward in another way will be more lasting and substantial than any mere expression of gratitude or thanks on his part."
