I am not a professional genealogist and cannot carry out genealogical research; nor can I offer advice on County Louth tourism. Please do not send requests for further information on ancestors whose names you find in the lists on this site.

 

Please, please do NOT contact me with the intention of going into 'partnership' to sell the lists on this web site (yes, it has happened a few times!!!). And please, please do not bother to put all these lists on to a single master database with the intention of selling them (yes, that 'brilliant' idea has cropped up a few times!!!). Any database that you might produce will be inferior to anything I have myself, unless you decide to go back to the original source material.

 

The purpose of my making these various old lists available is to provide pointers or possible leads to those looking for ancestors in County Louth. It is done out of respect for the ancestors who have gone before us. It is meant as a service and is totally non-commercial.

 

When transcribing information from old documents, newspapers, etc., mistakes happen. I have been as careful as possible and apologise in advance for any errors. As everyone doing genealogy knows, the rule is: if you have any doubts, consult the original!
